Protruding from the fractured earth is the wisdomous oak, coarse and bulbous and adorned in ivy. Standing solitary in the clearing, the colossus towers over all the trees of the encircling woods. Atop it’s lower branches, wilted but sturdy, perch singing robins seeking shelter from the prematurely scorching spring sun under the upper branches that reach up towards the empyreal skies, welcoming the sun from her arduous journey.
